Taste of the Valley is a fundraiser for AVLS, a non-profit guild that hopes to put the Upper Arkansas River Valley on the map as a tourist destination for the education and responsible enjoyment of craft beer and spirits. “This event helps us celebrate the first year of our guild and raise awareness for all the craft producers making wonderful things to eat and drink in our cool little valley,” said AVLS President Mike LaCroix.
AVLS founding members include Amica’s Pizza and Microbrewery
, Deerhammer Distilling Co.
, Elevation Beer Co., Moonlight Pizza and Brewpub
and Wood’s High Mountain Distillery.
Joining AVLS for the event will be new member Three Barrel Brewing
from Del Norte and other allied local food producing friends and chefs.
A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the Johnson Family Fund
for the surviving children of the much-loved Buena Vista family that was killed in a rockslide at Agnes Vaille Falls in September. In an effort to raise even more funds, AVLS will also host a silent auction for unique items and art from area businesses and artists. AVLS is still accepting silent auction contributions; interested donors can email AVLS Director Lee Hart at Lee@BrandAmp.com
Tickets for the event are $45 in advance or $55 at the door. Tickets include an AVLS Silver passport valued at $25. The passport entitles holders to 10 percent off food and beverage at their next visit to each AVLS founding member establishment.
